General Dynamics NASSCO Awarded $157 Million for USS Essex Phased Maintenance Availability 

General Dynamics NASSCO has been awarded a $156.5 million contract for a phased maintenance availability (PMA) aboard the USS Essex (LHD-2). General Dynamics NASSCO is a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD).

The PMA will include the planning and execution of depot-level maintenance, alterations and modifications that will update and improve the ship's military and technical capabilities. Work will be performed in San Diego and is expected to be completed by June 2017.

The contract is an add-on to a previously awarded cost-plus-award-fee contract.
